Artwork
Way back in the days of yesteryear; Toonami used to air as part of their intersitials, fan artwork. These short segments showcased artwork sent to the Toonami guys down in Atlanta, coupled with the artist's name and location.
To me, this was always one of the determining factors that set Toonami apart from the rest of the crowd. The block was actively listening to fans, admiring their work, and allowing the fans to partake in part of the on-air experience; it was an idea that little had done before and few have done since.
Sadly, Toonami's artwork segments disappeared. One could note the amount of time that process of taking art, reviewing it, scanning it in, and building a intersitials around it, takes as a very clear and distinct cause for their disappearance - but regardless of the logic behind the choice to abandon them, I will always feel a great part of what made Toonami special was lost when it was decided upon.
Thus the decision to support said arts here at ANX; much in the way Toonami used to back in it's heyday, was made. We've had a fan-art section ever since the site was founded, and it will remain as long as I hold out hope that it'll at least inspire people to create art. In this section you'll find art new and old, from people old and young; experienced and inexperienced, simple and complex.
While naturally as a Toonami site we'd prefer artwork pertaining to Toonami shows, both old and new; we'd more then love to review artwork which can somehow be connected to Toonami, or at least is in the same vein as the shows on Toonami. Simply refer to our "How to send my artwork" blurb on the side-bar for more information to get the ball rolling!
