Blue Sub No.6

Years in the future, in a time when the polar ice caps have melted and most of the earth is covered by ocean. An evil force surfaces by the name of Zorndyke. He is a man with a vision, one he’s willing to do ANYTHING in order to realize it. Equipped with an army of genetically mutated beasts known as ‘his children’, Zorndyke’s plans included replacing the currently dominant species on the earth, Humans; forcefully if need be.

To combat his forces, the military has stepped up using sophisticated submarines and technologically superior underwater bases. One ship in general is known for it’s strength and courage, Blue Sub Number 6. Now, the war’s end is quickly approaching and it will be up to the crew of Blue Sub 6 to save all of humanity before the race becomes a thing of the past.

Blue Sub 6 was originally released as an OAV (direct to video series or movie) in 1998 by Gonzo studios. The series uses a unique and awe inspiring blend of crisp and clean animation along with extremely realistic Computer Animation. It was also Gonzo studio’s first production.

The miniseries came to Toonami November 6, 2000, as an in-flight movie. Since its original airing, the ‘series’ has re-aired several times, in both movie form as well as a four part-miniseries, before disappearing into the dark icy depths of Toonami's vast library.
